Mechanical Editing is performed on your completed manuscript. This is not a full editing service. Your manuscript is run through the leading academic software and corrects spelling errors, improper punctuation, indents, and line spacing. This does not include proofreading. We highly recommend you have your manuscript read by a proofreader to look for common typos that can be missed in the mechanical editing process.
Examples of words that can be overlooked are “the” if the “t” is missing the word “he” will not be corrected, because “he” is a word. Another example is “ago” if missing the “a” will spell the word “go” and that is a word so it will not be caught in the program. Spelling errors with words that are homonyms such as “threw” and “through” or, “to” “too” and “two” will not be caught unless you have your manuscript proofread.
*NOTE: For manuscripts that contain “street talk” or slang or cultural terminology and phrases this will not be edited and we do not offer to edit for these types of manuscripts. You may wish to hire a proofreader who is familiar with your vernacular.
