It goes without saying that unless you are Dr.Oz or a well-known doctor or speaker on the topic of health and natural healing, that if you write a book about this topic, it is a hard sell. However, there are ways to get your book the attention it deserves. And increase the sales of your book, and gain notoriety in the book selling world.
Man Authors have done extensive research on certain topics in regards to health and body, natural cures for disease or holistic health, and their books have a wealth of information that would be or could be life-saving information for thousands of people. But, how do you know which book to buy? How does an Author get in front of the right people at the right time?
I wrote a book called “A Mother’s Wisdom, Natural Healing Remedies, Faith, and Wellness” and I quickly learned that just having my book on Amazon, and Barnes & Noble was not enough. I did some Social Media posts and it helped a little tiny bit. I published a couple of chapters on my personal blog, and that helped a little tiny bit, and then I started looking into how to sell books of this genre. I learned from experience, that it takes some fine tuning, using the right keywords and doing the promotions in the right places.
There are some steps that an Author needs to take after they publish their book, depending on how many books they want to sell will depend on which strategies to use.
If you contact the book marketing people with Empire Publishing, you can get the ball rolling pretty fast. Expert advice and top notch customer service with the combination of seeing your book sales rise each month is a winning combo!
If you have a book in the Health and Body genre and want to know how to increase books sales, please do not hesitate to make the call. It will be the best choice you can make for your book.
The price is awesome, only $299.00 and you get so much more than you could imagine. Because you not only get the help you need but you get one on one personal training that you will be able to use every month.
Empire Publishing is proud to introduce Jay Johnson, the author of “The Making of a Spy”
For nine long months, Jay worked day and night writing this literary work, to bring this book to life. Jay’s inspiration came from his father, who served in the military during WW2 and learning of his father’s secret life while he served in the military. This book is part 1, and the next book in the series is coming soon and is called “Once a Spy, Always a Spy” where you will want to pick up and read where book 1 left off.
Synopsis
Isiac grew up without a father. His grandfather began teaching Isiac to hunt and fish when he was only 6 years old. That helped Isiac develop his skills of observation. Isiac acquired the ability to notice even the slightest changes in his environment and to interpret their causes.
During the Great Depression, Isiac used his hunting and fishing skills to feed his mother, sister, and brother. Isiac’s experience with and participation in bootlegging taught him the importance of planning. His skills in developing plans and contingency plans helped Isiac to anticipate potential problems. Isiac learned that it is much easier to avoid potential problems than it is to try to solve them once they occur.
By the time Isiac was 15 years old, he had a black belt in Judo and was multi-lingual: He was fluent in English, German, Japanese, and Polish.
When WW2 began, Isiac was drafted into the Army. Although unintentional, Isiac’s childhood experiences, along with the skills he learned in the Army, became an integral part of “The Making of a Spy”
Inside the Author’s Mind
When we asked Jay what it was that kept him wanting to write he responded saying “Handing my 95-year-old mother a finished copy of ‘The Making of a Spy'” and now, he looking forward to his second book being published and he can hand her a copy of Once a Spy, Always a Spy.
We asked Jay what the one thing he hoped he would get across to his readers and he responded in usual half kidding demeanor saying, “The propensity for dimwitted politicians to ‘screw things up’ is not something new in America. Politicians have been practicing that concept since the Revolutionary War. It’s just that today’s politicians have become true masters of the ability to screw thing up.”
This book was published with large print, intentionally so that his 95-year-old mother could easily read it. As it turned out, many people have commented that they really enjoyed reading the large print, as it was easy on the eyes.
The book is available in all the formats and is being sold everywhere books are sold. In both hardback and paperback, whichever you choose. Also available on Amazon Kindle as well if you are a Nook fan you can also download the book to your Nook.
This book is like a history book but meant for enjoyment and purely a work of fiction. It was based on a partially true story of Jay’s childhood with his brother and mother and father. but names are changed and some scenes added for interest.
There is a hurdle that Authors come upon when it comes to making royalties and doing promotions for book sales. The profit an Author makes off of one book sold on AMAZON can be on average, between $1.00 and $8.00 per book depending on what the selling price of the book is and the wholesale cost of printing it.
There are many ways to market a book, some cost more money and some marketing strategies do well for one book while another Author using the same strategy for their book of a different genre will not work as well for their book. There is no perfect formula for selling a million books. But there are some sure-fire ways you can increase your sales. While I am not going to address all of those options in this post, you can hop over to a page I wrote before and gain a lot of information there. Click on this Book Marketing Link and it will take you there. But first, keep reading for the best thing you can do if you want to publish a book, but are overwhelmed with the options and the prices of using a professional Self-Publishing Company.
A New Strategy – Guaranteed – Better For Publishing and Making Money!
The initial cost of publishing can range dramatically, depending on your word count, the level of editing, and if you choose a package that includes marketing. The range is from $299.00 to $10,000.00 which means the money going out for publishing can directly affect how much you have to put towards marketing. But the Author is in a catch of 22 because in order to sell more books you need to market the heck out it, especially as a new release.
Empire Publishing has teamed up with PayPal Credit, which will allow an Author to publish their book and not have to pay off the publishing package for 6 months. It takes on Average 6 to 8 weeks from the time of submission of your manuscript to the time of the book going live on Amazon. Then, Amazon does not pay Royalties for another 60 to 90 days after going live. So the Author is out a lot of money before they ever make one penny.
Allowing this payment plan option to pay off in 6 months, gives the Author the benefit of having a book published and Royalty payments already being deposited to their bank account before they ever have to pay off the publishing package means that they can do better promotions and sell a lot more books.
You can purchase Publishing packages, Marketing Packages, Services or anything you want or need all with our Finance Option directly from the Empire Publishing Website. Simply click on the Payment Plan Credit Link on the product or service you want or need for your book and we start the process as soon as you send over the manuscript.
Now that is the deal of the century!
Start your fingers to typing! You have a book to publish!
The Poems, written by Blair Smith, is a poetic journey through the subjects of Emotional Intelligence (EQ), Human Certainty, Mankind, Mother Earth, and the Creative. Recurring themes include the folly of “Human Certainty” and my urge to always keep questioning; the absolute need for inner balance brought by continual cultivation of “Emotional Intelligence”; the human disregard for and rape of “Mother Earth” and the urgency to heal our womb of life; and, occasional “Sprinklings of Humor” and “Irony” for after all, man has proven to be both funny and peculiar.
Blair Smith is a retired Navy Pilot and flew for Delta Air Lines prior to the events on 9-11. He has flown all over the world and has seen and experienced more in one lifetime than many could ever experience in ten lifetimes. He has preserved his memory to positive thinking and even despite many atrocities in this world Blair can always find the positive light. He expresses himself in this manner in Poetry and his work may be used in Literary College Classes.
The one message Blair hopes to convey to his readers is that Peace on Earth is something that is a possibility, in his own words Blair said, “Nothing has gotten man into more trouble than human certainty. We have been at war for centuries over our human certainties and continue to kill off each other over our need to be right about our certainties, our need to be certain over our religions, and our certainty in our forms of Government. For it is between the roots of human certainty that lies man’s greatest battlefield. Human certainty like all closed belief systems prevents the possibility of greater universal truths. I am for greater universal truths and for the possibility that peace on Earth is a reality we all can achieve together by letting go of our certainties.”
The Poems received many impressive endorsements from people all over the country and this is just a couple of them here:
“Through his poetry, Blair Smith takes the human condition and strips it bare, leaving us vulnerable and requiring us to question our purpose. He leads us to a place of inspiration, possibilities, and hope. Read The Poems and you will feel challenged and empowered to make a difference in your personal life and in the world around you.”
~ Scott W. Murdock, Sanur, Bali. / Captain, United States Navy (Retired)
“It takes courage to write poetry. This work has searched for uneasy answers, doubted accepted beliefs, and expressed uncharted feelings. Take the time to read these poems if you are willing to join the author on these complicated journeys.”
~ Dr. Gloria E. Bader, San Diego, CA. / Founder of The Bader Group
Here is one sample of Blair’s Poetry, to give you a glimpse into his effective writing style:
To know victory
we risk defeat
To conquer self
we risk facing fears
To love with all your heart
we risk being vulnerable
like saying “I love you” first
without expectation of hearing it back
To feel our true power
we risk knowing our weakness
To change our relationship with risk
we change our relationship with self
To leap off the cliff
we learn to fly
To realize it is always your turn
to go first
to be vulnerable
to risk it all
to have it all
Poems Part 2 and the God’s of Man Combined is underway already and will be published very soon. Right now you can get your book “The Poems” (Book 1) at Barnes & Noble or on Amazon. Publisher: “Empire Publishing and Literary Service”

Do you have any particular literary influences that have helped you develop in your genre, subject, and style?
Only one, Dr. Carlos Efferson and the one book he published called The Gods of Man. Carlos was my Great Uncle by marriage. I spent many quality hours with him discussing his book as he formed the thoughts over the years.
What inspired you to write your book?
-To leave an heirloom for my Grandkids and Great-Grandkids, and to a lesser extent to leave my mark on the world so the world would know I was here.
– To live in my dreams. This was definitely an effort to run into the fore of my life. One cannot truly be free to create when coming from their survival and limiting conversations. I gave up all those conversations in order to create The Poems.
– To talk the talk, and walk the walk as an example for family, and friends.
-To speak my observations in a beautiful manner through free verse poetry, and speak to the things I am for such as the possibility of greater universal truths vs. human certainties.
How long did it take you to complete your manuscript?
-The manuscript took approximately 12 months from the first inkling to the first proof of the manuscript.
What is the one message you are hoping to convey to your readers?
If I had to narrow it down to one message, it would have to be this. Nothing has gotten man into more trouble than human certainty. I am for greater universal truths and for the possibility that peace on Earth is a reality we all can achieve together by letting go of our certainties.
Do you anticipate a sequel to your book?
Absolutely, The Poems Part 2 and the God’s of Man combined is underway already.
If you could offer advice to an inspiring Author, what would be three tips you could share to help them be successful in completing a manuscript?
I would coach others with several things upfront. Chief among them is giving yourself permission to fly off the cliff, and acknowledgment that you are as good as anyone. Once you have given yourself those two things, the next step is set your intention that your book idea will come reality and start writing.
–Permission– you have to give yourself permission to run into the fore of your life and not be afraid. You have got to be willing to run into the fire of your life.
–Acknowledge– you are as good as anyone. This is important so those self-doubting limiting beliefs and conversations can be overcome.
–Set your intention. Set your intention that the dream is reality and it is only going to take your work to close the gap between dream and reality.
What was your favorite part of the experience of publishing your book with Empire Publishing?
The best part of the publishing experience so far is having a professional partner like Empire who knows the business of publishing. Additionally, having a local and responsive author’s representative who is willing to go eye to eye with me at Starbucks adds that personal touch that made the difference for me in going with Empire.
Would you recommend this company to friends wanting to publish a book?
Based on what I know so far, yes I would recommend Empire Publishing.
A wonderful children’s book, “The Twin Tooth Fairies” is a brand new book release by The Murphy’s, that just hit the market. It was written with the intention of helping children learn to brush their teeth and have good oral hygiene.
The book was inspired by the Author’s who have twin boys and 3 other children. The twins, Preston and Jameson, are the characters in the book who become tooth fairies. Preston didn’t brush his teeth and became the dark fairy that comes to scare kids at night who do not brush their teeth, while Jameson took good care of his teeth and he became the good tooth fairy and he would bring good gifts to the children who brushed their teeth.
The story reminds kids to take care of their teeth and so they will be visited by the good tooth fairy.
